- Details
Heart Rate Hikes are intended to get your heart rate up through sustained, vigorously-paced hiking. The hikes will cover some 6-7 miles, exploring various routes through Frick Park and concentrated on the single track trails, "uphill both ways."
Tips, tricks, and gear you may want to bring with you include: appropriate footwear (hiking boots advised); dress in layers; a day-pack for gear; a water supply you can drink from on the go; hiking poles; micro-spikes or yak-trax for icy conditions; snowshoes, should there be a foot or more of snow on the ground.
Make sure you gear up appropriately for the weather conditions! "A prepared hiker is a happy hiker."
Please arrive 10 minutes early so hikes can leave on time. The hike meets in the parking lot at Braddock Ave and Biddle Ave, next to the Clay Tennis Courts. Please arrive at 8:20 so that the hikes may begin promptly at 8:30.
This hike is limited to 15 participants. If you register and are unable to attend, please cancel your ticket or email sbucklin@pittsburghparks.org to open space for others to attend.
